The Quest
The brief is to create and host a special exhibition for the "Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023" programme, a collaboration with Macau Special Administrative Region government, bringing together resources from various local sectors and creative forces from around the world to create a city-wide biennial brand with large-scale exhibitions.
Solution
Our goal is to create a space with a full on experience for the audience to interact, connect and appreciate arts during their shopping spree.
Together with Galaxy Macau™ and Forward Fashion Group, we have selected BE@RBRICK as the exhibition focus, and invited the renowned Japanese artist Tatsuhiko Akashi and emerging Macau local artist MCZ_Thomas to take led in this special project.
Happening
The exhibition has showcased over 50 art pieces while collaborating with over 10 international and local art units across the property, from GalaxyArt space, Pearl Lobby to the Outdoor Lawn near the Diamond Lobby. The exhibition was held from 1 August to 22 September 2023, open daily to welcome visitors from international tourists to local residents.
Achievement
From indoor immersive exhibition to the outdoor larger-than-life-size figure installation, the exhibition was held successfully with increasing footfall throughout the period. The exhibition has received overwhelming popularity from the public and positive feedbacks from artists and tourist.
